Erdfarben
Written for her Orchestration Large course as part of her degree, Erdfarben, meaning ‘Earthly Colours’ is an exploration of primordial earth forces. It uses percussive sounds as the driving force behind the dark and rhythmic nature of our early, uncivilised planet. The piece was inspired by Greek Mythology, in which the first primordial deities were born from Chaos, a primeval void, and the first thing that existed.
‘..first Chaos came to be, but next.. Earth’ - Hesiod.
Conducted by Gregory Rose.

O were my love
for SATB a capella chorus, "O were my love" is the second movement from Sinnsear, a choral set of three songs about love. Sinnsear is the Scottish Gaelic word for "ancestors", and this movement is dedicated to my paternal grandparents.
This dedication inspired the choice of Robert Burns poetry, as they grew up and fell in love in the same western lowlands as this famous poet.
Performed by Mouthscape, San Francisco Conservatory of Music's Contemporary Choir.
Conducted by Michael Robert Smith.
Caroline H. Hume Concert Hall, May 10th 2018.
